25-year anniversary: “I’ve found the perfect job”
On 12 February 2026, Dorte Wedel Guldmann will celebrate her 25-year anniversary with Frode Laursen.
Dorte originally applied for a trainee position in transport planning but was instead offered the opportunity to start as an apprentice in customer service. At the time, customer service was responsible for everything related to customer operations – something that quickly sparked enthusiasm in the new apprentice.
“I liked it from the very beginning. It was exciting because we were the link between the warehouse and the customers. That meant we more or less knew everything that was going on. Customer service was a great entry point into the business – almost a 360-degree perspective. And there was no such thing as being shielded because I was a trainee. I was simply thrown in at the deep end,” Dorte explains.
After completing her apprenticeship, she had no doubt that she wanted to continue in customer service. She remained there until 2008, when she went on maternity leave and at the same time felt ready to try something new.
“Fortunately, at Frode there are often opportunities to take on new challenges. For me, that became a position as a warehouse controller, where today I am responsible for inventory. This means I coordinate and quality-assure stock counts. As a result, I spend a lot of time visiting our warehouses to review procedures and assist with counting. It’s an exciting role that has given me many great colleagues,” she says.
Over the years, Frode Laursen has meant more to Dorte than just a job.
“I met my husband at Frode, and we have a daughter together. She was born three months prematurely, and Frode was incredibly supportive in giving us the best possible conditions. I was able to set work aside with peace of mind, and my husband had the opportunity to be at the hospital. So it truly is a company that takes care of its employees and where we have the opportunity to shape our own roles. I have certainly succeeded in finding the perfect job,” Dorte says.
In her private life, Dorte lives in Horsens with her husband, whom she has been married to for 17 years, and their almost 18-year-old daughter. Her spare time is mainly spent with her large family, which includes five siblings as well as nieces and nephews.
