Frode Laursen has eight logistics centres and two terminals situated in four countries. We are one of the biggest players in the FMCG sector, and as a warehouse/terminal employee at Frode Laursen, you will be able to try your hand at all aspects of warehouse operations.

Warehouse/terminal employee

Frode Laursen’s logistics centres are the biggest in the Nordic region within the FMCG sector. They are constantly and rapidly developing, and the tasks cover a wide range of different functions:

Packing department

This is where packing and repackaging take place. Repackaging involves packing the goods in displays that present the products well in the shops, and they are usually used for promotional goods and advertised discounts. In the packing department, groups of two to eight people work around a packing island.

The warehouse

Our logistics centres lie close to all the main logistics hubs in the Nordic region. Here, the trucks are unloaded, the pallets are scanned in, and the necessary registrations are made in the IT system before the goods are taken to their place in the warehouse.

Processing

Our efficient distribution system enables us to make overnight deliveries to most corners of the Nordic region. Here, the orders are processed, and the pallets are packed as whole or quarter pallets or in picking pallets, which hold several different goods for a specific recipient.

Terminal

This is where the trucks are unloaded and loaded. The terminal employees are responsible for positioning the goods so they are delivered with the right truck to the shops. They are also responsible for sorting pallets for customers, keeping everything organised and tidying up at the terminal.

As a warehouse/terminal employee, you are …

… part of a team that works together to handle our customers’ goods in the best possible way. You must be punctual, responsible and able to work independently. In addition, you must be willing to make a special effort if a customer needs it. Finally, it’s important that you like getting things done, and that you can keep a cool head – even when you’re rushed off your feet.

As a warehouse/terminal employee, you get …

… good colleagues and proper working conditions. No matter which department, logistics centre or terminal you start at, you will be joining a team that will go out of its way to welcome you.

I like the fact that it’s an international company, but that it still feels as though you’re one big family.”
Liisa
Team leader, Packing

I learn something new every day

Liisa Salo has worked as team leader in the packing department at our logistics centre in Kerava, Finland, since the logistics centre opened in 2018:

– I was surprised by how much the job actually entailed. I thought I’d be spending most of my time doing practical work, but in fact most of it is spent on planning and administration, says Liisa, who is, however, delighted with this development:

– I love trying my hand at new things and acquiring new skills, and I still think I learn something new every day, so I’m very happy.

One big family

Liisa enjoys the atmosphere at Frode Laursen:

– I like the fact that it’s an international company, but that it still feels as though you’re one big family, as she puts it.

Before Liisa and the rest of the team started up in Kerava, they visited Frode Laursen’s other logistics centres to learn the ropes and to be inspired.

– It was really good, and it was very helpful to see how they tackled things at the other logistics centres, says Liisa who, even though the logistics centre in Kerava is 1,200 km from Frode Laursen’s headquarters in Denmark, never feels out on her own because, as she says:

– I can always call and ask if I run into any sort of any problem.
