45-year anniversary: “It’s just great to be part of”

21. April 2026

Today, our colleague Kurt Fagerlin celebrates his 45-year anniversary at Frode Laursen.

We don’t have many colleagues today who had the chance to know both Frode Laursen and his son Niels, the second generation in Frode Laursen. However, that was the case for Kurt, who was hired 45 years ago through that connection:

– I worked in a furniture store that was a customer of Frode Laursen, so I often came to Vitten. I had a good dialogue with Niels when the store went bankrupt and I needed to find a new job. Fortunately, an opportunity came up as a dispatcher in our furniture department, explains Kurt.

In the early 1990s, furniture transport was phased out, and the warehouse and terminal in Vitten were merged. Kurt became warehouse manager and was, among other things, responsible for a smaller packing unit.

– Back then, we mostly handled shampoo and toothpaste. The big change came when we got Unilever as a customer. We had to pack everything for Jutland and Funen, and later many more products were added. Things moved quickly, and when we ran out of space, we opened in Hørning, says Kurt.

At the same time, it marked the beginning of a period of growth. New warehouses were added, and activities expanded into several countries.

– 10–15 years ago, we had grown so much that I stopped being warehouse manager in Vitten. Instead, I became responsible for co-pack across Frode Laursen, where we act as a kind of customer service for all warehouses. Since then, development has only accelerated. I want to contribute to that and I enjoy seeing results. It’s simply great to be part of, he explains.

Kurt lives on his family farm in Skjød, just a few kilometres from the head office in Vitten. In his spare time, he goes hunting with his two brothers, where today it is more about spending time together than the hunting itself.
