25-year anniversary: “Frode is simply a great place to be”

26. January 2026

On 26 January 2026, packaging manager Karina Olsen will celebrate her 25-year anniversary with Frode Laursen.

Karina originally joined the packing department at Frode Laursen’s logistics centre in Industriparken, Jyderup, which at the time was the company’s first site on Zealand. The early years were characterised by a fast pace and continuous development, with new customers joining regularly and the warehouse expanding. As a result, the years passed quickly.

“After six years in the packing department, I unfortunately developed psoriatic arthritis, which was not compatible with the work. We tried to find a solution, but it wasn’t possible, and the pain increased. In 2009, I was actually ready to throw in the towel and find another job. Fortunately, I wasn’t allowed to,” Karina explains.

Instead, Karina was offered the role of packaging manager – a position that took her situation into account. A solution she looks back on today with great gratitude, both personally and professionally.

“I am deeply grateful for that. If no one had thought outside the box, I would have had to leave Frode, and I would have been very sad about that. At the same time, it was a great vote of confidence and extremely educational. Especially because Frode Laursen has also undergone an impressive development, both in terms of growth and digitalisation. It has been great fun to be part of,” she says.

When talking to Karina about her 25 years with the company, there is no doubt about what has been her greatest driving force throughout the years.

“It is without a doubt my colleagues. They are fantastic, and I am very grateful for them. We have a strong sense of unity: we help each other across departments, are open with one another and treat each other with respect. All of this – and much more – helps make Frode Laursen what it is: a great place to be,” she concludes.

In her private life, Karina lives with her husband, whom she has known for 35 years, and the couple’s Labrador. Her spare time is spent visiting their three adult children and enjoying experiences with music, comedy and theatre.
