25-year anniversary: “I’ve found exactly where I belong”

12. February 2026

On 12 February 2026, John Juul Poulsen will celebrate his 25-year anniversary with Frode Laursen.

John originally worked as a driver for a haulage company that was sold around the turn of the millennium. However, even before the acquisition became a reality, he was already on his way to something new.

“I played football with a few people who worked at Frode. They knew there was a driver position available and helped me get an interview – and then things moved pretty quickly. We more or less agreed that I should just start the following Monday. And that was it – we were up and running,” John explains.

John worked as a driver until about ten years ago, when Frode Laursen launched operations with a new customer in Højbjerg near Aarhus. There, he became team leader for trailer loading.

“We built a really strong team there. For me, it’s all about trust. If something has been said once, it shouldn’t need repeating. And if someone needs help, we help each other. That also applies when you’re the leader,” he says.

Later, he returned to Vitten, where he now works as a group leader at the terminal. He is responsible for goods reception, trailer loading and the daily operations.

“I want to carry forward the culture I’ve always appreciated myself: that we treat each other properly, speak respectfully and help one another. That culture is what has made the years fly by and why I’ve never been tempted to look elsewhere. I’ve found exactly where I belong,” John explains.

In his private life, John lives in Hinnerup with his wife, whom he has been married to for nearly 45 years. His spare time is spent on self-drive holidays in Denmark and Northern Germany, time with his grandchildren, and following his favourite football club, AGF.

The anniversary will be celebrated with a reception tomorrow at Vitten Assembly Hall from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Everyone is welcome to attend, whether registered or not.
