25th Anniversary: “I only have good things to say about Frode”

7. August 2025

On August 7, 2025, driver Aksel Uldal will celebrate his 25th anniversary at Frode Laursen.

Although Aksel now marks 25 years with the company, his time at Frode Laursen actually goes back to 1985. In 1998, he took a break from driving to get more regular working hours, but by 2000 he was back on the road, this time delivering ROCKWOOL.

“For the past nine years, I’ve been transporting roof insulation to everything from industrial buildings and schools to apartment blocks and single-family homes. It’s great fun. No two construction sites are ever the same, so I encounter all kinds of challenges. I enjoy finding solutions to those problems – in the best and safest way possible,” says Aksel, who has also served as a health and safety representative for the past 10 years to help ensure a good and safe working environment.

Finding solutions is what drives Aksel in his work. That’s why he also appreciates being able to do it in peace and in his own way.

“I have a lot of freedom in my daily work and don’t really feel like anyone is watching over me. I just get a task, and I’m allowed to do it as well as I can. The company trusts me and has confidence in me. I like that, and that’s why I only have good things to say about Frode as a workplace,” he explains.

Although Aksel enjoys his job, he has started looking ahead to his next chapter. As he puts it himself, he will “turn 70 next time,” and would like to reduce his hours.

“I don’t want to keep working 60 hours a week, so I’d like to cut back and work as a relief driver. I’m not ready to stop completely, especially since my wife won’t retire for another year and a half. But having a bit more free time during the week would be nice,” says Aksel.

The extra time will be spent hunting with his wife, especially in Sweden, tending the vegetable garden at their former farm in Nørager, and spending time with their 13 grandchildren.
