Frode Laursen Expands Sustainable Logistics Center
Frode Laursen is expanding the number of square meters in the first stage of the construction of their new DGNB-certified logistics center. This expansion comes as a response to significant demand from customers.
Even before the construction of Frode Laursen’s new logistics center in Vejle has fully commenced, the company has decided to increase the project size from the initially planned 20,000 sqm to 37,000 sqm.
“We have seen such high demand for this new solution that we’ve decided almost to double the size of the first phase,” says Frode Laursen’s CEO, Thomas Corneliussen.
A Perfect Combination
The logistics center, centrally located in Denmark, is being built according to sustainable principles and specifically designed for handling groceries, one of Frode Laursen’s core areas:
“I think this specific combination has hit the mark with current and prospective customers. We’re experiencing great interest in our grocery solutions, and with this logistics center, we can offer even more possibilities in the future,” says Thomas Corneliussen.
Sustainability at the Forefront
The logistics center is being built in line with Frode Laursen’s Green Warehouse Vision, an ambitious construction concept focused on minimizing environmental impact.
“We’ll use recycled steel, CO2-neutral insulation, heat pumps, and rainwater recycling. Additionally, we are installing a large area of solar panels on the roof and implementing the latest solutions for intelligent electricity usage indoors and outdoors,” explains Thomas Corneliussen.
The 37,000 sqm facility will be completed in the summer of 2025. Once fully developed, the logistics center will have a total area of 90,000 sqm.
